11 and 12 november 2004

The two festival days. Not much enjoyment was there as it was in our early childhood. It was all watching aroun today, not much doing it ourselves. As a middle class person, I can control myself from those enjoyments for the moment but surely we can relish them as we grow up and transform into a person who can afford for all these.

It is not worthwhile talking about these things on this festival day. Of course, the festival days are over by yesterday, but this post was published, the next day after the festival. We were passing our time by watching TV mostly.

On 11th particularly, my grandparents and I went to the temple of Sri Lord Venkateswara on the seven hills. It was quite a long time we stood in the queue. Many breaks were there due to the 'Kalyanotsavam'. We had to wait for a long time for our line to get started in the running queue. We were dumped in the Vaikuntam queue complex for almost an hour.

We returned home only at 5:00 P.M. in the evening after leaving the house at 9:00 A.M. in the morning. It was a pleasant day in the hill station - Tirumala. We lit some crackers in the night after my father came in the night.

12th was a festival day, but completely dedicated to the 'Idiot box'. We were watching three films at a time. In the afternoon, we were lucky enough to get the permission from our parents to watch telugu movie. That's it for the day. We just await the match between India and Pakistan tomorrow, in Kolkata tomorrow.

Today, I reached my house at 7:30 A.M. My grandparents were also coming to meet me after quite a considerable time. It is a big relief for them from the big problem of water in their city - Chennai.

Today, I visited SBI in SVU campus for some pay-in purpose. That's it for today. Not much done. We just thought of visiting the temple on the hills tomorrow. For that, we need to have tokens in our hand. But there is no crowd in the temple, it seems. We can do it tomorrow also.

Today, was a day of hunting for the college officials. I was looking for some solutions for some problems related to my hostel bill and schedule of expenses for the next - sixth semester.

Unfortunately, it was a day when the mess workers striked out all their work. The good thing about it was, they pulled out a strike after the completion of the semester exams of UG students. PG students had to suffer though, but they are provided with some timely help from the management who got it right by providing them the food from the external means.

I am going to Tirupati today and am looking forward to a happy festival holidays. Lokeswara Reddy joined me in the bus stand at 7:30 P.M. for the same Andhra A.P.S.R.T.C. bus for which I was waiting for. The journey started at 7:45 P.M.

08 november 2004

Today, the exams got completed. I can go to sleep much better today but yet to do. Yes, I had a lot of work to do today. The jobs, I did today after the exam were :
1) I returned the Library books.
2) I filled the IPT form and got it sent to the destination through Rajkumar Pal.
3) I applied for a statement of balances in my college account.
4) I got the syllabus copy for the VI semester as printouts.
5) I got the messbill printouts.
6) I went to library and chose books for the next semester.
7) I had to dine in the snackie today as the mess workers strike.
8) Finally for the day, the blog.

About the exam now, it was cool. There were many scribblings in the data book, some of them being the design procedures itself. They helped me in completing the exam quite easily. But I was always nervous. Anyway, it is all over and the test now starts for the lecturers who are going to correct our papers. It's their prestige issue that matters, when the number of failures in the class affect their reputation.

I might be leaving tomorrow to Tirupati. I forgot to inform the grandparents that I will be there for Diwali. Another Diwali in our house. Let us see how this one goes. May everyone enjoy their Diwali.

Let Diwali bring colours and prosperity to all of you, especially those who really need it and those who deserve it. The eradication of a satan is celebrated as Diwali in India. Probably, this might give you a complete idea of why this is one of the most joyously celebrated festival in India. I hope everyone would have understood the context of Diwali.

Today, I was watching TV all the day and was also studying in before the IDIOT box itself. I studied a bit. I am confident enough in this subject, not of myself but of my lecturer who taught the subject, Mr. Arulappan

We are going to use the data book anyway. So, no hurry needed. Everything is available that book. We should be aware where we can find the things we want, that's it. It's been raining all day here. I called my parents today. I just told them that I am going to call them back tomorrow night finalising the IPT details. They really want me there for Diwali.

I also do want to go there and be there with them on the holiday eve. I would like my grand parents to be with us there on the day. If they get to know that I will be available there, they will surely be present there before me. Let me write this exam well first. I shall think over it again.

06 november 2004

Today, the exam was a little disappointment to me as I was actually confident of doing it well and ended up not that great. My next exam is on 8th this month. I was sleeping in the evening so that I could study tomorrow morning. That's why I am blogging late in the night.

About the exam, a typical paper from Mr. Panneerselvam, who taught us the subject [Mechanics of Machines]. He comes from our own department[Mechanical Engineering]. He is so interactive with us and that made us quite confident in that subject. That's why, I studied that subject carelessly and actually well considering my preparation.

The paper contained only two problems each for 8 marks with choice of writing a derivation also. I attempted the derivations only as I thought by attempting problems, I can get into some trouble. I did a problem though, but I don't know whether the answer, I got, is the one to be obtained or not. I was a bit sleepy in the exam hall as well.

The next exam is BME 506 :: Design Of Machine Elements

The previous papers gave an impression that even a first year guy from the Mechanical Engg. can attempt them with fair ease. Wish I do well in that. I am hoping to study tomorrow morning. It will be really nice if I can do it.
