Today is one of the disastrous day of the world. An earthquake hit Sumatra, an island of Indonesia. The image of the affected area is shown below.

Not much happened in my routine life. The calamity was a heart-breaking news because the start point of the tsunima was near the Indonesia yet striking Indian coast strongly. Many lives are taken away by this unfortunate incident and this is not at all a good send-off to the year. Lots of people could not traced and many are missing.

Anyway, this is an unforgettable day in my life.

Today, I was suffering with a bit of headache early in tht morning resulting in my over sleep. I could not make it to the class. I didnot attend the four classes in the morning though I attended the CAD lab in the afternoon.

I created a feed for the RSS that is available from my blog website[powered by blogger.com] http://praveenj.blogspot.com into the address[powered by the site which I found newly on the internet feedburner.com] http://feeds.feedburner.com/praveenjblogger . The feed is really good and the whole updated RSS is given by a small image that is automatically generated. The image generated for me looks like :
Praveen Jaladanki

I like this thing. This is Technology at its best. Also, I reactivated my account in the Mywallop. It is a flash website and very much interactive. The network, in particular, is simply superb.

Until today, I had been busy with the CPC [Campus Placement Course] and hence could notmake it to the computer center. I am doing satisfactorily in CPC, not satisfied in the Technical part though. I am OK in the Aptitude part. Anyway, I am doing quite good on the whole.

Last sunday, there was a programme called S-PAC [standing for Students' Professional Awareness Conference] which was held in the A2 Hall by IEEE society of our college. This was the first of its kind in India. They collected a nominal fee of Rs.150/- for the entry. I am calling this a nominal one, because the lectures given by the guests were simply informative. The guests for the programme were [in the order of presentation] Prof. Ashok Jhunjhunwala - Scientist turned Entrepreneur ; Dr.B.V.Ravikumar - Xcyton Diagnostics Ltd. ; Mr. Laxman Badiga - Wipro Tech., Bangalore ; Mr.Maria Sundaram[our alumnus from M.Tech. Manufacturing Tech.] - General Electric [GE], Bangalore.

The motto of all the profound speeches, they had given were simply creating an awareness for the students in the fields of Profession. Each person was from a different discipline, which actually made it easy for us to distinguish between the topics. Each presentation was also added with their personal experiences which, when they were explaining, were being felt by all of us. Truly, I am proud of taking part of the first ever S-PAC programme in India.

Today, again I topped the class in the Apti test in the CPC. The Technical paper was a little bit easy but not for the time allotted. The apti paper contained 15 questions to be answered in 20 minutes. I got 12 out of them correct and topped the class. They are conducting mock GDs and Interviews also. I have a mock GD tomorrow.
A public website and a private forum are created for the sake of the spiders. I hope the spiders would join them as soon as possible.

Today, our first CPC exam was held. I missed it as I slept of headache in the afternoon and could not get up as soon as I would have liked to. I went to the Christmas function that was held in the EEE Auditorium. It was really great. The way they had organised the function without any sponsors is really to be appreciated and the songs were really good. They played two skits also out of which I missed one. They provided some refreshments also after the function.
We created a group for ourselves - The Spider Empire, the Intranet website which provides news, articles, reviews, huge gallery of wallpapers, elibrary etc. The link to the group is http://groups-beta.google.com/thespiderempire and the group's own eMail-id is automatically created as thespiderempire@googlegroups.com. 12 december 2004

It is quite a good long time after which I am visiting the computer center in our college. I was on a vacation and could not make it to the updation of the site. I did an InPlant Training in TSRM, Trichy with a 15-day certificate, yet doing only for one day. It was all due to the fact that I presented the Plant Officer with a Tirupati temple LADDU which impressed him a lot and started doing everything for me.

Our report was compiled from three different reports which he gave us for a reference. Hence it contained all sorts of mistakes -- errors and blunders...Yet, it is not a letoff for our certificate. Finally, we got it. I did the IPT along with Rajkumar Pal, the day-scholar and a scholar in our class.

I got a terrible result for the last semester, with losing in one subject, the Compressible Fluid Flow. The results for the two subjects handled by the ICE lecturer Mr. Jayaram - Mechatronics theory and Lab Practicals were held for now. People are expecting a re-exam in them. It will be terrible, if it happens.

Tomorrow is the Birthday of Bhargavi, my sister. May god bless her.

11 and 12 november 2004

The two festival days. Not much enjoyment was there as it was in our early childhood. It was all watching aroun today, not much doing it ourselves. As a middle class person, I can control myself from those enjoyments for the moment but surely we can relish them as we grow up and transform into a person who can afford for all these.

It is not worthwhile talking about these things on this festival day. Of course, the festival days are over by yesterday, but this post was published, the next day after the festival. We were passing our time by watching TV mostly.

On 11th particularly, my grandparents and I went to the temple of Sri Lord Venkateswara on the seven hills. It was quite a long time we stood in the queue. Many breaks were there due to the 'Kalyanotsavam'. We had to wait for a long time for our line to get started in the running queue. We were dumped in the Vaikuntam queue complex for almost an hour.

We returned home only at 5:00 P.M. in the evening after leaving the house at 9:00 A.M. in the morning. It was a pleasant day in the hill station - Tirumala. We lit some crackers in the night after my father came in the night.

12th was a festival day, but completely dedicated to the 'Idiot box'. We were watching three films at a time. In the afternoon, we were lucky enough to get the permission from our parents to watch telugu movie. That's it for the day. We just await the match between India and Pakistan tomorrow, in Kolkata tomorrow.

10 november 2004

Today, I reached my house at 7:30 A.M. My grandparents were also coming to meet me after quite a considerable time. It is a big relief for them from the big problem of water in their city - Chennai.

Today, I visited SBI in SVU campus for some pay-in purpose. That's it for today. Not much done. We just thought of visiting the temple on the hills tomorrow. For that, we need to have tokens in our hand. But there is no crowd in the temple, it seems. We can do it tomorrow also.

09 november 2004

Today, was a day of hunting for the college officials. I was looking for some solutions for some problems related to my hostel bill and schedule of expenses for the next - sixth semester.

Unfortunately, it was a day when the mess workers striked out all their work. The good thing about it was, they pulled out a strike after the completion of the semester exams of UG students. PG students had to suffer though, but they are provided with some timely help from the management who got it right by providing them the food from the external means.

I am going to Tirupati today and am looking forward to a happy festival holidays. Lokeswara Reddy joined me in the bus stand at 7:30 P.M. for the same Andhra A.P.S.R.T.C. bus for which I was waiting for. The journey started at 7:45 P.M.

08 november 2004

Today, the exams got completed. I can go to sleep much better today but yet to do. Yes, I had a lot of work to do today. The jobs, I did today after the exam were :
1) I returned the Library books.
2) I filled the IPT form and got it sent to the destination through Rajkumar Pal.
3) I applied for a statement of balances in my college account.
4) I got the syllabus copy for the VI semester as printouts.
5) I got the messbill printouts.
6) I went to library and chose books for the next semester.
7) I had to dine in the snackie today as the mess workers strike.
8) Finally for the day, the blog.

About the exam now, it was cool. There were many scribblings in the data book, some of them being the design procedures itself. They helped me in completing the exam quite easily. But I was always nervous. Anyway, it is all over and the test now starts for the lecturers who are going to correct our papers. It's their prestige issue that matters, when the number of failures in the class affect their reputation.

I might be leaving tomorrow to Tirupati. I forgot to inform the grandparents that I will be there for Diwali. Another Diwali in our house. Let us see how this one goes. May everyone enjoy their Diwali.

Let Diwali bring colours and prosperity to all of you, especially those who really need it and those who deserve it. The eradication of a satan is celebrated as Diwali in India. Probably, this might give you a complete idea of why this is one of the most joyously celebrated festival in India. I hope everyone would have understood the context of Diwali.

07 november 2004

Today, I was watching TV all the day and was also studying in before the IDIOT box itself. I studied a bit. I am confident enough in this subject, not of myself but of my lecturer who taught the subject, Mr. Arulappan

We are going to use the data book anyway. So, no hurry needed. Everything is available that book. We should be aware where we can find the things we want, that's it. It's been raining all day here. I called my parents today. I just told them that I am going to call them back tomorrow night finalising the IPT details. They really want me there for Diwali.

I also do want to go there and be there with them on the holiday eve. I would like my grand parents to be with us there on the day. If they get to know that I will be available there, they will surely be present there before me. Let me write this exam well first. I shall think over it again.

06 november 2004

Today, the exam was a little disappointment to me as I was actually confident of doing it well and ended up not that great. My next exam is on 8th this month. I was sleeping in the evening so that I could study tomorrow morning. That's why I am blogging late in the night.

About the exam, a typical paper from Mr. Panneerselvam, who taught us the subject [Mechanics of Machines]. He comes from our own department[Mechanical Engineering]. He is so interactive with us and that made us quite confident in that subject. That's why, I studied that subject carelessly and actually well considering my preparation.

The paper contained only two problems each for 8 marks with choice of writing a derivation also. I attempted the derivations only as I thought by attempting problems, I can get into some trouble. I did a problem though, but I don't know whether the answer, I got, is the one to be obtained or not. I was a bit sleepy in the exam hall as well.

The next exam is BME 506 :: Design Of Machine Elements

The previous papers gave an impression that even a first year guy from the Mechanical Engg. can attempt them with fair ease. Wish I do well in that. I am hoping to study tomorrow morning. It will be really nice if I can do it.

05 november 2004

Today I was really happy that India pulled out a great victory over the Australia in the final test of the four test series between the two teams.

The exam on 6-november-2004 is : BME 505 :: Theory of Machines II

I am quite confident in that subject and was relaxing a bit. The blogger.com website gave an unexpected error when I tried to post my blog here. Hence I wrote this blog in a text document and saved it in my hard drive and then am posting it late here. Hope the error will be repaired and I can post in the blog itself soon. I can't guess the error there.

I am afraid some of the search engines, I had applied for might have done this. This is just a thought from me and migt not be true. Hope so. I slept in the evening for sometime and woke up at 12:15 late in the night, so that I can complete my nightout.

Thank god. I am writing this blog from the blogger.com itself. Thank you blogger.com. I can't believe this. The first half of this blog was written in a text document and now this part, I am writing now is from the site itself. Finally I got it back. I shall meet you tomorrow.

04 november 2004

Today was one of my great days in this semester. I wrote the exam terrifyingly well considering my study limit. The paper was so easy, thanks to Rajagopal for helping me out in what to study and what not to. It helped me a lot and also the way I looked into the exam was heartening for me. I wrote the paper as it was a 'apti' paper. I understood the questions with it's logic and not the physical meaning.

With that knowledge, I was able to do it very simply. I went through the questions carefully with not doing any hurry for attempting it. Before writing the answers for any questions, I made sure whether all the required data as I thought is available and if it is not available, I thought of some other idea.

Today was Rajagopal's birthday and I was so happy that I thought it's my birthday. Anyway, a good day for me. I relaxed very much. I slept at 3:30 P.M. on 4th november 2004 and am going to get up only 6'O clock tomorrow morning. I understood from the exam that when you study the textbook, you get to attempt any question from that particular topic atleast to a level. When you study the notes, you can attempt that particular question better than anything.

03 november 2004

Today was a big day again. The exam on the previous day was OK for me. But now is the tester. Tommorow, I am having BME 504 :: Heat and Mass Transfer

I didn't start studying it until now. This has become my fantasy, studying in the late nights and then going to write the examinations half-asleep, then coming here and boring you people with some real bad news. I could have, rather should have done better in this matter of when to study. I thought of starting it the previous day itself. But then I was too irresistive towards browsing. I came out here to the computer center and started doing it.

This time, it is an easily scorable subject. It is known that if we can cover all the theoretical questions in the syllabus, we can ignore problems. The choice pattern in the previous year's question papers tell it. Well then, I need to study, we shall talk a lot in my other blog - http://praveenonsports.blogspot.com

02 november 2004

Today, the exam is over. Yes, the mechatronics semester exam is over and I hope it is that's it for the subject for me. Hope I don't get any arrear of that. Though the preparation was not that great, the paper was attempted in a better manner. I attempted many questions. He has given the question comprising of purely application oriented type questions as predicted.

Anyway, it was cool at the ending. Hope I wrote it well to my potential and preparation. I studied until 7:30 A.M. in the morning and went to octa for watching the newspaper through epaper from TimesOfIndia. Today, I saw many good sites like Malayala Manorama. I logged on to it as well. I got an email-id praveen_satya@manoramaonline.com

He is also having a epress. It is a real good software, it seems. They are using it to perfection. After the exam, I went to octa and was browing something. I was checking may mails. Then I went to my room at 3'O clock and slept. I woke up only now. I came to octa to wrote this diary of my own. I updated some of my website -- http://free.omnilect.com/praveen_satya

That's it for today. I dont think much is going to happen further in this day. I am writing this blog at the stroke of the midnight. I'll post again tomorrow.

01 november 2004

Today, I wasted a lot of time of playing around. Next day exam was
BME 503 :: Mechatronics

I didn't study that well today. I started studying at 11'O clock tonight and pulled out night out. I studied in the TV room infront of the idiot box. I was watching movies, matches, songs etc and was studying at the same time. This helped me, I think in completing the syllabus. May be, I didn't complete it. I had to search for the things that are to be studied all night and almost nobody knows what to study.

The teaching was a hell in the class. No body knows what he has taught. He is actually a gem of a teacher but he could not make himself impressive to many people. I dont want tomention the name of the faculty. He is the faculty of ICE department and comes for us for the subject.

Any way, let's see how am I going to attempt the paper. People who wrote the paper before told that the paper will be purely application oriented and we have to attempt everything given in the paper. They also told that the correction is going to be linient. Hope I do it better.

31 october 2004

Today was also dedicated to browsing. Lots of javascripts are seen today. They were really superb. I saw through the sites - http://www.java-scripts.net and http://www.dynamicdrive.com etc for the scripts. I tried them on my blogs and most of them are put up on my, other blog http://praveenonsports.blogspot.com

Most of them were games that are put up in my site, since it was a page devoted to sports and games. The games like shuffler, snake, tetris, lotto, toggler, Tic-Tac-Toe etc. are put up. The scripts are taken from the site http://www.dynamicdrive.com Thanks to them for having such great scripts online, available freely available to everyone.

I did no other work today. I didn't even eat tonight only to go outside the college gate and having some noodles. With that my day ended. I forgot even to write down my blog for today. I am writing it late. Tomorrow, there is no exam. So, I will be feeling relaxed tomorrow. That's all for today.

I created my own page today. The address of the page is [omnilect webhosting services]: http://free.omnilect.com/praveen_satya

30 october 2004

Today was that day when I had to curse myself. The exam was actually easy and since I didn't prepare that well, I could not write it well. As in my post, the exam was
BME 502 :: Compressible Fluid Flow

The preparation was like a hell by me. The last chapter in the text book carries 28 marks as it covers 2 units in my subject. Had I completed that chapter well, I could have gotten those marks quite easily. That's the mistake, I made. I could have done better if I had studied. But never mind. What happened has happened and I should able to concentrate on the next one. The next exam is on 2nd november. So, I have ample time to forget this.

May god give me some concentration. I slept today afternoon for the sake that I will not feel tired for a long time. Sleep gives such a mental relaxation.

Two days back, Mr S A J Shirazi sent me an invitation to join the Orkut community. I was perplexed to see the site. It was so good and well maintained. It has many members. We can always find friends for ourselves according to our wish and interest. There are lots of communities there and you can create one if you think there isn't one of your own interest.

Thank you Shirazi for inviting me to the Orkut.com...

29 october 2004

Today I slept till 3'O clock and didn't prepare for the exam at all. The next exam is a bit tough, at least for me as it was not well followed by me in the class. The subject is :
BME 502 :: Compressible Fluid Flow

I am not good in these assumption based subjects and problem oriented subjects. So, I need to study well for this exam. Unluckily for me, the power was not available in my hostel. That's why, I am posting here.

Nothing much happened today. I am leaving now. Seems that power has come now in the hostel.

28 october 2004

Today was the big day. The much-awaited examinations started today. You know why they are much-awaited because only if they come, they will get completed. It started with BME 501 :: Computational Methods Using C++ , though the programming part was eliminated from the syllabus at the last moment.

The partA was better for me. It contains of 10 questions which do not give the choice of writing our own question. We have to attempt all for full marks in that section. Each question carries 2 marks. The partB contains 5 units among which each unit is provided with 2 questions from which we can attempt anyone question. Each question carries 10 marks. So, the total makes 70 marks. The 30 marks for the percentage is taken from the internals already written.

All the subjects have the same type of question paper pattern but different types of settings and valuation methods. One teacher is so linient in this while some others are strict. One such teacher takes Computational Methods for us.

As far as my attempt was concerned, I did partA well but screwed up the partB. The choice of questions to be attempted was not good and the tension just crept over and over. But I am still confident that I might get a good grade in that, may not be a great one. I studied at 2:00 A.M. in the morning[yes, I pulled out a night out, and might be doing it for all the exams]. I completed the ayllabus in 3 hours. My exam started at 9:30 A.M. and continued for 3 hours. I had to
desperately sleep now, tonight.

Preview on the next exam tomorrow. Kidding...

27 october 2004

Today, it was better for me. I hadn't slept like I did in the previous days. I did browse a lot though. I was watching the cricket match in the television for a while and when the power went off, I went to sleep. When I went to sleep, Australians were struggling to make a score of above 400[in the cricket match, of course] and I woke up only to see that indians are struggling to stay in the middle at least. I was pretty much disappointed at the way they had batted. More details on my blog - http://praveenonsports.blogspot.com

It rained like a hell here. The power was needed to be cut off due to it. One thing which made sure that I study a bit was the Computer Center in my college. You might not believe it, because all these days, I kept telling, it is ruining my studies, but suddenly am prompting that it had helped me in studies. Yes, the reason was pretty easy to explain.

It was closed for some maintainance operations. And hence I could not blog directly into the website here. This particular blog, you are watching now was typed in the intranet lab of the computer center, I am talking about. I transferred to file to the internet lab and had to post it again. Well somehow, I managed to study something today. We shall see how I am going to attempt my paper tomorrow, because it's the one that really matters.

26 october 2004

As always...browsing. Forgot to eat also. It's getting really bad for me now. Somebody teach me how to be sincere in anything. I could keep the word, I give to my soul. Today I forgot even to eat. I ate only in the night. [no breakfast/lunch...] night that too not in the hostel mess, outside mess since it was already late for me.

I am having exams from day after tomorrow. This is just to remind myself. OK, not much happened today. So, let me get away now from this computer. It's really gad damn'tempting...

25 October 2004

Today there was an examination [semester final & external] on Production drawing. A question to draw flange cupling in free hand with tolerances. A question to redimension a given object taking some other datum as reference. Small answer questions like definitions. A question asking for an explanation on ladder of cost. Finally, a problem on the cost estimation.
The exam was OK for me as not many, I suppose would have done better. But surely I was not the best. The problem, I made a mess of it, thinking it the other way. The drawing was OK but the tolerances, I had given might not be purely correct.
The examination got completed at 12.30 P.M. I came to room at 1.30 P.M. and slept and forgot about evrything else. I got up only at 12.31 P.M. next day. I slept almost for a complete day. This is what they call as day off, it seemed to me. But it was not at all good for me since my semester theory exams are going to start for me day after tomorrow and I, sleeping like this, am not going to do anything good at all for my ownself.
Hope you are thinking that I am wasting my own time here writing this blog, but what to do, I forgot writing this yesternight when I was sleeping. I had to write this at somepoint. That's it for today. I shall write my experiences today I am going to face tonight.

24 october 2004

This summary is not available. Please click here to view the post.

Sachin is back playing...

The suspense is over. Sachin Tendulkar is fit and will play in the Nagpur Test.

The much-talked about ‘tennis elbow’ has healed and after seeing Tendulkar’s 30-minute batting stint — spread over two sessions — at the MIG Cricket Club nets, team physio Andrew Leipus gave the good news. ‘‘Sachin is fit and will be on the plane to Nagpur tomorrow and will play in the third Test,’’ he said.

Visibly pleased on passing the fitness test, Tendulkar looked forward to facing the Australians in the third Test starting on Tuesday. ‘‘I am feeling pretty confident and comfortable and I am fit to play in the Nagpur Test,’’ he told reporters.

Giving a medical interpretation of Sachin’s comfort, Leipus said, ‘‘the stiffness and soreness in his elbow has gone and he is comfortable while batting.’’

Facing Mumbai skipper Paras Mhambrey, an assortment of local pacers and a couple of leg-spinners Tendulkar started the nets session today with defensive strokes. The final 10-minute session was for strokeplay. A back-foot drive on the on-side and an inside out lofted shot over covers suggested that Tendulkar seemed to be getting back in the groove. This was despite the long hiatus — he played his last international game on August 1.

He also bowled a bit but that wasn’t part of his serious workout. Rolling his arm, with pads on, to his son Arjun added to the general ‘well being’ all around.

While Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly would have heaved a big sigh of relief on receiving the news, the Australian camp might be forced to have an extended team meeting before the Nagpur Test.

But their injured skipper Ricky Ponting — hours after landing in India — didn’t give any hint. ‘‘It is very good news, especially for the spectators. And also for us players because we would like to play against the best team,’’ he said.

23 october 2004

Today was a sleepy day. I started sleeping at 11'O clock in the morning and woke up only at 9'O clock in the night. It was all rain today and the roads are almost invisible due to the fog.

I had my dinner near the gate of the college. It was only snacks - Rs.25/-

22 october 2004

Today, it was completely done with playing the multiplayer games in the computer, the game being AOE. It was quite good for three matches. But then, I felt sleepy and so lost the fourth one. It was like a wake-up call for me and won the fifth one anyway. The web designing was goos today.

We, the SPIDERs [poeple maintaining a website in the college - intranet website with a seperate server]had a party in the city and got late into the college.

That's it for today...Next updation tomorrow...
